The quintessential 'cabin in the woods' experience. You can stop searching right now. This is the real deal.

Here is why this cabin is going to be the highlight of your summer:

  • Authentic Atmosphere: This isn't just a place to sleep; it’s an experience. It is designed to feel exactly like a true cabin in the woods should. You walk in, and the stress just melts away. It’s got that cozy, rustic charm that makes you want to turn off your phone and just be.

  • The Ultimate Chill Zone: Inside, you’ve got a fantastic corner fireplace that anchors the living space. Imagine ending your day there with a warm fire and good conversation. But the real magic is outside—you have a large deck that is just waiting for you. Picture yourself sitting there with your morning coffee, just listening to the loons call across the lake. That is the soundtrack of the Northwoods!

  • Perfect for the Whole Crew: The sleeping setup here is absolutely brilliant for families or groups. You have two bedrooms that feature log queen-size beds for the adults. Then, you’ve got a third bedroom packed with two sets of log bunk beds. The kids (or the cousins) will have a blast having their own sleepover space!

This spot combines that secluded, nature-first feel with plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably.

A Little History…

The cabin that grew up with the resort.

Cabin 4 has done a lot of growing up since it was born in 1948. Back then, it was a "double unit"—strictly a place to crash after a long day of fishing. There was no kitchen, no bath, and certainly no frills. It was a bunkhouse for the die-hards.

But as our guests’ families grew, Cabin 4 grew right along with them.

In the 1980s, we decided this cabin needed to be more than just a bedroom. We undertook a massive expansion, pushing out the front to create a proper living room and adding bedrooms until it transformed from a simple sleeper into a spacious three-bedroom home base. We added a full kitchen (because you can’t feed a crew without one) and built the first deck.

In the 90s, we brightened things up. We added skylights to bring the Minnesota sun indoors and expanded the deck again—because we know the best stories are told outside, usually with a beverage in hand. We also reinforced the floors and gave it a fresh roof, ensuring it was ready for the next generation of footsteps.

Today, very little of the original 1948 structure remains visible to the eye, but the location is as perfect as ever. It’s a cabin that reinvented itself to make sure there was room for everyone.
